He again declined to comment on any particular names. Vanhanen said he will discuss the matter with current and future Commission Presidents Romano Prodi and José Manuel Durao Barroso before stating his own preference. Prodi bjgins a visit to Finland on Friday. The PM said there are expectations that the proportion of women on the commission will rise. Three of the four top Finnish candidates are women.
