P285 285 YLE TEKSTI-TV 23.06. 2151:38    News in English Wednesday   Nicaragua demands compensation from US Nicaragua has demanded that the US pays 12 billion dollars worth of indemnities to Bompensate for losses incurred during the economic embargo against Nicaragua and attacks by the US backed Contra rebels. Nicaragua made its demand through the International ourt of Justice which had earlier condemend the US for military involvement in Nicaraguan affairs and has called on the US to compensate for damages caused by US mine explosions in Nicaraguan harbours.
